St. John Missionary Baptist Church (SJMBC) is a church organization founded in 1921 in Alton, Illinois. In 2021, SJMBC purchased the former KC building on 405 E. 4th Street.

The church decided to renovate the building to be used for weekly worship services and meetings. In addition to church functions, the multipurpose facility is available to the community for rent. The main event space can host a wide variety of events, everything from parties, receptions, reunions to anniversaries and concerts. The church looks to begin the second phase of renovations which will include the lower level of the building and the building’s exterior facade later this year or early 2023.

Anyone interested in seeing the facility can visit the open house event on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
